F. etym. muisca next Large branch of tree Madera Muiracatiara / Scientific name: Astronium Graveolens Colombian name: Diomate Gusanero
Its name, in Muisca, means "big tree branch" and refers to both the green tree and the dry one. It is a wood traditionally used in joinery, parquet floors, tool handles, musical instruments, interior carpentry, carving and lathe. The Muiracatiara tree is an important species for the birds of its ecosystem.
This design replicates the muiracatiara wood, native to Central and South America, in Colombia it abounds in the gallery forests of the departments of La Guajira, the Llanos Orientales, Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Tolima, Meta, the Magdalena river valley and the river canyon Cauca.
It is characterized by a set of irregular straight veins and subtle cathedrals, in different warm colors, ranging from cognac and caramel tones, to brown tones, generating an interesting contrast.
It is an ideal design for applications that want to give a cozy and sophisticated feeling, creating modern or timeless spaces. Combine it with our AMAZONA finish that enhances the veins and pore of the wood, giving it an ultra-natural appearance and nuance.
